A Welcoming Word from Linnea


	Welcome. Like me, I’m sure your way to this site has taken many twists and turns. What is it that has happened to us, anyway? In the beginning, once the dust has somewhat settled, it’s normal, it’s just your day-to-day life. Kids seem to assume that everybody’s doing exactly what they’re doing. And when they realize that’s not the case, it becomes an embarrassing secret, to be hidden at all costs. And your mommy or daddy wants you to hide it too. At some point you start seeing it in a different way. It is something that has been done to you, parts of your life that have been taken from you. Some of us have been taken away from an abusive parent. Some of us have been taken by an abusive parent. Often you’re not allowed to even talk about it with your family. However, since you have found your way to this website, that means you have found out that there’s a word for what was done to us – parental abduction. This site is here for you to learn more, to come to see that many of us have similar problems stemming from parental abduction that haunt us well into adulthood. Sharing your story with others is cathartic, as many of us already have learned. Hopefully meeting others who have been through similar experiences will help us come one step closer to overcoming our issues. This site also gives us a place to make our voices heard.
